Christmas finger puppet craft material list
I placed a photo next to each finger puppet with the exact materials needed for each Christmas animal. All of these require a set of things that are very easy to find:
Pipe cleaners (Rudolph's legs also require special pipe cleaners of different widths-see picture below)
  Pompom
  Slimy eyes
Glue (Hot glue gun works best, but later I found out that even ordinary glue works, but it takes longer to dry)
Wire cutters (so you don’t ruin the scissors that cut the pipe cleaner)
The snowman finger puppet also needs three-dimensional fabric paint.
How to make these Christmas finger puppet crafts
For general assembly instructions, see the original Easter finger puppet post.
It explains general instructions on how to wrap the pipe cleaner around your fingers and how to connect the pom-pom accurately.
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer Finger Puppet
In fact, you will need six 1.5-inch gold tube cleaners!
Wrap the base of finger puppets.
Twist two pieces of gold tube cleaner around one piece into each antler. Glue them to the top of the brown pompom head.
Glue the red mini pompoms and sticky eyes to your face. Gluing the nose first will make it easier to stick those slimy little eyes, because they will have something to rest.
Glue Rudolph's head to the base of the puppet's body.
Cut brown pipe cleaners of different widths in half-only one part is needed for each set of two legs.
Slide each pair of legs between the body coils.
  Christmas santa finger puppets
Oops-missing material in the photo-a big red glitter pompom!
  Wind the puppet base.
Twist a 5 inch (approximate) piece of red pipe cleaner into a cone for Santa’s hat. Screw two 2.5-inch white and silver pipe cleaners together and twist them into a circle to serve as the rim of the Santa Claus hat. Glue the silver pompom on the top of the cone, glue the brim to the bottom of the cone, and then glue the hat on the tan pompom.
Glue his red nose first, then his squishy eyes, and then glue his head to the body of the red glittering pompom. Cut a white pompom in half as Santa’s beard, and glue it after the head is connected, because you need to glue it on his face and body.
Glue two small back pompoms to Santa’s "coat".
Glue Santa Claus to the finger puppet base.
  Mr. Penguin Finger Puppet
Wind the base of the puppet's body.
To make Mr. Penguin's top hat, wrap the black pipe cleaner around the pencil as shown in the picture. The first three lines are next to each other, and then the next three lines overlap each other:
To make his wings, an 8-inch pipe cleaner was bent into a U shape, as shown in the picture above.
To make his bow tie, a 2.5-inch pipe cleaner was bent into a connected X shape, as shown in the picture above.
To make his beak, just bend a 3/4 inch orange pipe cleaner in half.
Glue the beak to his pom-pom face and then to the slimy eyes. Next, glue on his top hat.
Glue his head to the puppet base, then glue his bow tie under his head and beak.
Slide his wings between the body loops, and then glue two medium orange glitter pompoms in front of the bottom of his feet.
Cut a 1/4 inch piece of orange pipe cleaner for Frosty's nose.
Glue three white glitter pompoms together, large, medium, and small on top.
Glue his nose to his face and then to his slimy eyes. Since the top pompom is very small, you may want to replace his eyes with black fabric paint.
Paint three small buttons on his body (even the mini pompom is too big).
Glue Frosty to the puppet base.
  Christmas elf finger puppet
Oops-his arm still needs a 3 inch green pipe cleaner!
Wind the base of the puppet's body. When using flash tube cleaner, you must use two of them for the underbody-they are too thin!
Follow the Santa Hat instructions above to make an elf hat, using the colors shown here.
Glue the mini pompom nose and slimy eyes on his pompom face, and then glue it to the hat.
Glue his head to the base of the body.
Bend the 3-inch green pipe cleaner into arms and slide them between the body coils.
Glue two pink mini pompoms to him as buttons.
  Winter Cardinal's Puppet
Wind the base of the puppet's body.
Glue the red V-shaped feather to the top of the cardinal’s head, and then glue the yellow V-shaped beak to his face.
Glue the slimy eyes to the top of the beak.
Bend the wing from the 6-inch red pipe cleaner.
Glue the head to the body base, and then slide the wings between the body coils.
