The Summer Olympics are coming soon, and our family is very excited to watch the elite athletes compete for the gold medal. When I was a teacher, when my own children were young, we would hold our own playground and backyard Olympics. We also made Olympic art, just like this fun Olympic rings craft project!

Hope you haven't missed our excellent children's lesson on the history of the Olympic Games!
  Paper ring project supplies:
White, blue, black, red, yellow and green construction paper.
  School glue.
A cup or small bowl to trace.
The Olympic rings we see now were designed by the founder of the International Olympic Committee in 1914 and used for the first time at the Antwerp Olympic Games in Belgium in 1920. The five rings represent the five continents. The colors also represent the colors of each country participating in the competition at that time.
Let's start this DIY Olympic ring craft project! This is a great activity for kids of all ages. Moreover, it is an interesting and educational way to develop fine motor skills.
First, draw five interlaced circles on white paper.
Next, tear off each of the five colors of paper.
Now, start gluing the torn pieces of paper around the tracing circles on the white paper.
Start with the blue circle at the top, then black and red. Next, glue the yellow paper on the circle where the blue and black circles are interlaced. Finally, glue the green paper on the remaining circles.
That's it! I hope we can inspire you to watch and celebrate the Olympics this summer, and create a meaningful Olympic five-ring craft project with your children!
