Although we adults like to enjoy Valentine's Day with romantic dinners, some chocolates, and of course some champagne, children have a completely different experience. If you have a child who has attended elementary school, you will know what it includes: handicrafts and sweets.
This year, take your child's Valentine's Day to the next level. These DIY crafts serve two purposes. First, they make decorations around the house. Hey, if you are decorating your house, you might as well make it look like homemade. Secondly, whether it is for a special person or the entire class, they are all Valentine's Day meals.
Why not take the lead in some of these handicrafts today?
  Heart stitch card
Maybe the title of the post says that these Valentine's Day sewing cards are for preschoolers, but they are suitable for any child. Teach you how to make these beautiful and wonderful Valentine's Day cards from scratch. You don’t even need that much material.
Rather than buying stock Valentine's Day cards from the store this year, how about helping your child create something he or she can be proud of? They can decorate these sewn cards in unlimited ways, so let their creativity take over.
  Painted newspaper heart
This is another homemade Valentine's Day tutorial. It involves much more materials than sewing materials, but it is also expected to bring a lot of fun to children of all ages. The problem is: you need one or two newspapers. You still get them, right?
Using some liquid watercolors and some watercolor postcards for framing, you can help your children make some real Valentine's Day gifts for their classmates. This is very simple, they can make one for everyone, even in a large class.
  Lover mailbox
If your children distribute Valentine's Day cards at school, they will also make mailboxes to store all these cards. This is an ingenious craft that everyone else in their class can do, but let's be realistic: the boxes they make in class are boring. Use the fun and colorful mailboxes you can make at home to add interest.
Either way, your child will have a mailbox that he or she is proud of—not a cardboard box wrapped in paper bags.
  Valentine's day heart-shaped card garland
This is a creative and beautifully decorated idea: use playing cards to make a wreath. This is perfect for Valentine's Day, because you can just use the hearts on the deck. If you run very little, you can lay some diamonds there, so maybe you can just use a deck.
All you need are playing cards, hole punches, some baker's twine and cloth strips (obviously red, white and pink). With her easy-to-follow steps, you will have a beautiful mantle or railing decoration that you can take out every February.
  Valentine's Snowball
Do you know what else to look at on the mantle in February? A snowball. But not just any snowball.
As you might imagine, this project is very complicated. But unlike many crafts on this list, you can reuse this snowball every February.
  Crumbling painted heart
Looking for a more suitable mantle decoration for young children? There is a lovely project that will attract those young children. The most important thing is that this project involves very little material and almost no time.
Cut out some paper hearts, and put some child-safe paint into the small balls in the box. Throw some washable toys so they can pick up and distribute paint. Then seal the box and have your child shake the box. Seriously, make them go crazy and really distribute paint. Then you can make holes in those newly decorated hearts and string them on your mantle.
  Baby food jar candle holder
If you have no children at the age of baby food, this can be difficult. If you do this, you are lucky. You can use those jars to create something brand new.
Although these are great for young children, you can still take advantage of this tutorial even if you don't have a baby at home. Just use mason jars instead of baby food jars. It will not be upgraded, but it is still a great Valentine's Day craft that you can make with kids.
  "Gum Machine" Candy Jar
If you make enough of these handicrafts, you will have a carefully decorated Valentine's Day cloak. Although you won't dispense any gum or candies from this "machine" (hence the quotes), you can create a neat looking candy jar.
Children can play with this because it mainly involves painting. You start with a small flower pot, you need to color it. Kathy provides many excellent tutorials to help you complete this tutorial easily. She even provided an ingenious trick for the lid to make this jar look like a real gumball machine.
